Lukashenko Approved Draft on CU's Joint Board of Customs Services

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko issued a decree № 84 on February 28, thus approving a draft agreement on the Joint Board of Customs Services of the Customs Union. The decree is a basis for negotiations on this issue. It also provides for the treaty's provisional application from the date of its signing up to its enactment, the press service of the State. 

President authorized Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas to conduct negotiations on the draft treaty, as well as its signing. Meeting of the Commission of the Customs Union will be held in Moscow on March 2, 2011.

As it became known to Telegraf in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the meeting puts on agenda issues of customs administration, customs and tariff and non-tariff regulation, Plan of Action for the Common Economic Space, improvement of the institutional organization of the Customs Union Commission in connection with the expansion of its functions within the CES.

The parties also intend to consider the draft agreement on the implementation of transport (road) controls at the external border of the Customs Union, agreement on the peculiarities of the Customs Convention on the International Carriage of Goods, protocol on Amendments and Addenda to the Agreement on the application of special protective, antidumping and countervailing measures against third countries.
