Airplane with Bakiyev on Board Did Not Land in Belarus, Transport Ministry

Director of the Department of Aviation of Belarusian Ministry of Transport, Vadim Melnik, told the reporters that the plane with Kyrgyzstan's president, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, on board did not land in Belarus. When asked if the president of Kyrgyzstan could fly by regular flight, the head of the Aviation Department said that "such possibility exists, but no airlines declared about this".

According to Vadim Melnik, over the past four days «there were no aircrafts from Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan, or from other Asian countries». «So, to say that the former Kyrgyz President Bakiyev came to our country is at least ridiculous», BelTA quotes the words of the chief of the Aviation Department.

Vadim Melnik also stressed that, in connection with a cloud of volcanic ash, the flights are limited now. «Europe is closed, and we are flying at low altitudes only to the east», he said.

In Minsk National Airport also informed that the plane with Kurmanbek Bakiev on board did not land at the airport. Moreover, according to airport personnel, they do not wait an aircraft from Kazakhstan in Minsk.

Director General of Belavia National Airlines, Anatoly Gusarov, also stated that the president of Kyrgyzstan did not come to the country. «There are no passengers with this name among Belavia passengers, who flew from Moscow», the director said.

When asked by reporters about whether Kurmanbek Bakiev expected to arrive in Belarus in the nearest future, Anatoly Gusarov said that he has no such information. «In the lists of passengers who booked tickets, there are neither such a names», Belavia Director General explained.

Bakiyev hasn’t crossed the border of Belarus, State Border Committee

In his turn, the head spokesman of the State Border Committee of Belarus, Alexander Tishchenko, reported that Kurmanbek Bakiyev «has not come to Belarus, neither has not crossed the border by any other way».

As Telegraf previously reported, an informed source told mass media that President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiyev, in the morning on April 17, departed by airplane from Taraz (administrative center of Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan) for Belarus.

Bakiyev, according to our information, have already departed from Taraz and going to Minsk. About an hour, he’s waited in the capital of Belarus», the interlocutor of Interfax-Kazakhstan said.

The administration of the President Alexander Lukashenko also stated that they have no information about the arrival of the head of Kyrgyzstan to Belarus.
