WHO Recommends Belarusians to Get Ready to H1N1 Virus

According to the forecasts of the World Health Organization, pandemic A (H1N1) influenza virus, A (H3N2) and B influenza will be simultaneously circulating in the Northern Hemisphere in 2010-2011. However, the A (H1N1) virus will be the "leader" among the causative agents of influenza this season. Belarus, like other European countries, is recommended by WHO experts to actively immunize against it.

Such an outlook makes Global Alert and Response Network of WHO. Experts recommend health care systems of all European countries, USA and Canada to use all three of these viruses to develop vaccines against influenza. According to the Ministry of Health of Belarus, the influenza A viruses, including H1N1, has not yet been discovered in the country in the beginning of November. «The activity of acute respiratory infection is low — does not exceed the incidence of SARS epidemic level in all the control cities,» the Ministry of Health.

Belarus has vaccinated 1.9 million people by November 1, 664 thousand people at the expense of the national budget, local budget — 919 thousand people, funds of enterprises and institutions — 347 thousand people, personal funds of citizens — 31 thousand people.
