According to the National Statistics Committee of Belarus, the average monthly volume of engineering industry production was significantly lower than stocks of these products in January 2011. Stocks of pharmaceutical industry products amounted to 146.4% of the average monthly production (Br109.9 billion).
Unsold bearings totaled 937 thousand units in January (234.8% of the monthly output), combine harvesters — 248 pieces (213.8%), tractor mowers — 453 pieces (227.6%). Woodworking machines were 7.5 times more in the warehouses (6.8 thousand units) than the average monthly production volume, microwave ovens — 4.3-fold more (110.3 thousands).
Overall, the volume of production in machine building grew by 7.1% to Br170.2 billion in January 2011. Cranes were produced 9.1% more (12 units), domestic refrigerators and freezers — 9.2% more (95.4 thousand pieces), elevators — 11.5% more (493 units), washing machines — 24.1% more (24.4 thousand pieces), rolling bearings — 24.7% more (399 thousand units), machine tools — 39.3% more (457 units) and combine harvesters — 81.3% more (116 pieces). Production of wheel loaders increased in 2.5 times (245 units).
However, tractors were produced 0.3% less (4.6 thousand units), microwave ovens — 1.9% less (25.4 thousand units), soil-fertilizing machines — 3.5% less (137 pieces) and woodworking machines — 73.7% less (910 pieces).
Drugs production increased by 7.2% to Br100.6 billion for the same period compared with January 2010. In particular, medicine for treatment of cardiovascular diseases have been made 51.5% more (4.3 million packs), drugs for treatment of skin diseases and other outdoor medicine — 32.4% more (2.9 million packs), drugs for treatment of eye diseases — 13.9% more (2 million vials), analgesic and antipyretic — 3.7% more (11.3 million packages).
Production of blood substitutes and other plasma substitutes products decreased by 12.5% (2.2 million ampoules), antibiotics — by 15.8% (4.2 million packs) and vitamin pills — by 36.4% (2.5 million packages).
