Nominal gross average monthly wage in Belarus for January-May period of 2010 totaled 1.078 million rubles. Including in May, the figure reached 1.158 million rubles. Comparing with April, Belarusians got 3.7% or 41.6 thousand rubles more.
According to National Statistic Committee, the real wage (calculated by taking into account the increase in consumer prices for goods and services) in January-May of this year increased by 6.9% comparing with January-May 2009, in May 2010, it increased by 2.9% compared to April 2010.
In industry, the average salary in May totaled 1.298 million rubles. The highest salary accrued in construction companies — 1.565 million rubles, in organizations of transport — 1.422 million, trade and catering — 1.020 million. The least wage is in health care — 855.2 thousands rubles, 799.8 thousands — in agriculture, 768.9 thousand in education.
