According to the President of the Russian National Energy Security Fund Konstantin Simonov, the agreement between Minsk and Caracas on Venezuelan oil supplies to Belarus is very good for Russia. "This agreement means that Lukashenko has the money. This oil is in any case more expensive than the Russian, even if all duties are taken into account ," — the expert said.

«This story is sobering for us. It proves that if Lukashenko wants to buy oil overseas, it means he has money. Accordingly, pretending the poor will not help» — said the analyst.

«Russia must make the political conclusions on reliability of Lukashenko as a partner, if he is ready to start buying oil from Venezuela and from anywhere, just not from Russia», — said Konstantin Simonov.

«The agreement between Lukashenko and Chavez was about 80 thousand barrels of oil per day. That is around four million tonnes per year. Russia was ready to supply Belarus  6,3 million tons duty free per year. After new agreements between Minsk and Caracas I would not speak about such a big quantity»,- the expert said, IA REGNUM-Belarus reported.
