Belarus to Prepare Its Proposals on Terminal for Liquefied Natural Gas in November

Belarus' Prime Minister, Sergei Sidorsky, approved the composition of the Belarusian part of bilateral Belarusian-Lithuanian working group to prepare the construction of terminal for liquefied natural gas in Lithuania. The working group should present its proposals on the project by November 1, 2010.

According to the decree of Prime Minister № 90r from July 13, 2010, the Belarusian part of the working group, which includes representatives of Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Transport, State Property Committee, Beltransgaz, Belarusian Oil Company, will be headed by First Vice Premier, Vladimir Semashko, and his deputies will be Deputy Energy Minister, Eduard Tovpenets, and Deputy Chairman of Belneftekhim concern, Vladimir Volkov.

The terminal for liquified natural gas, which Belarus is planning to build in Lithuania, is necessary to supply liquefied natural gas to Belarus. Moreover, Belarus plans to start oil supply through Lithuania, to deliver it to Lithuanian terminals by sea.
