Before flying to Minsk from the OSCE summit in Kazakhstan's capital Astana, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on December 2 that Belarus and the European Union "are not far from the solution" of visa problems. "This is a question to the Europeans. It seems to me that we are pretty close to solving these problems," he said.
According to him, it’ not a problem for Belarus to cancel visa regime, all the more that European countries are also interested in free movement both within Belarus and further to Russia and Kazakhstan.
«Therefore, I think they will make appropriate decisions,» the president said.
