President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated during his talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez that he did not want to be indebted to Venezuela. "I do not want to be your debtor, not only in respect of material values. I swear to do my best for Venezuela so that you will never regret that you have contacted us," the Belarusian leader said to the president of Venezuela.

«In this difficult moment you gave a helping hand to Belarus, and we will always remember this,» Alexander Lukashenko said.

According to the Belarusian leader, the president of Venezuela «has invested much of his energy, his good heart in the construction of independent Belarus, and all Belarusians are aware of this.»

In response Hugo Chavez said he did not consider Belarus Venezuela’s debtor. «There are no debtors — we are friends, and we build an alternative to imperialism together. This is a multi-polar world,» the Venezuelan leader said.
