Speaker of the House of Representatives, Vladimir Andreichenko, and leader of the UCP, Anatoly Lebedko, are invited to participate in the debate on the situation in Belarus, which will be held at PACE plenary session in Strasbourg on April 29. "I've got a roadmap on Belarus' accession to the Council of Europe in my briefcase", Anatoly Lebedko said on the eve of the meeting.

«This is a concrete and clear plan of what should be done to bring the country closer to the standards of this international organization», UDF website quotes Anatoly Lebedko. As speakers at PACE session there will be the Chairman of Sub-Committee on Belarus, Sinikka Hurskainen, and the rapporteur on behalf of the PACE Committee on Legal Affairs, Christos Pourgourides.

«I intend to speak on the outcome of the election campaign to the local councils, the need for adjustment of the international strategy towards Belarus», Anatoly Lebedko said. «The opposition is unanimous in the assessment of completed election campaign. We have no difference of opinions, that Belarus should not go around in circles, but move towards the Council of Europe standards, which means to free elections, independent judicial system, democracy. So, my position and my proposals will be based on the opinion of many people in Belarus».
