The Operational and Analytical Centre gave no access to Belarusian websites from abroad for two days
Access to Belarusian internet sites from abroad will be partially restricted for the next two days. This directive was issued by the Operational and Analytical Centre (OAC) under the President of Belarus, the state body responsible for cybersecurity in the country. We found out how this will affect the operation of internet resources within Belarus itself.
The restriction on access to Belarusian websites at the OAC’s request was reported by the Belarusian hosting provider HostFly.by. According to its information , Belarusian sites will remain inaccessible to foreign users for a period of two days:
- from 00:00 on 18 December 2025 until 23:59 on 19 December 2025.
It is worth recalling that these dates coincide with the second sitting of the VII All-Belarusian People’s Assembly (APA) in Minsk, an event the country’s authorities position as its principal political forum. Specialists clarified that access will be blocked to sites hosted on virtual hosting services («Website Hosting», «WordPress Hosting», «Bitrix Hosting (Mini and Start)»).
Meanwhile, HostFly.by assured that these restrictions will in no way affect the operation of the websites within the country itself – all domestic services should function as normal.
However, according to experts, projects reliant on integration with external platforms may experience disruptions during this period, so Belarusians should be prepared for unstable operation of some resources.
Incidentally, this is not the first time the OAC has resorted to such a practice. Similar restrictions were imposed during the previous presidential election held in January 2025. At that time, access to Belarusian websites from abroad was restricted for 3 days, justified by potential «threats to information infrastructure facilities.»
