The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko met with the Ambassador of Venezuela to Russia and passed through him an invitation for the President of that country, Nicolás Maduro, to visit Belarus.

“Venezuela is not a stranger to Belarus. We have been cooperating for many years and would like our relations to be stronger and more developed. We have much to discuss,” he said.

“I sincerely request that you convey to my friend Nicolás Maduro that he is always welcome here. We believe it is high time he paid a visit to Belarus,” the Belarusian president’s press service reported.

At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko did not rule out that he himself would visit Venezuela but did not specify any timelines.

Previously, Telegraf.news wrote that against the backdrop of an unprecedented buildup of American military power off the Venezuelan coast, Nicolás Maduro is developing plans for guerrilla warfare and chaos in Caracas. According to sources, the Venezuelan authorities have no illusions about their chances or popular support.

Meanwhile, the United States has recognized Maduro and some of his associates as members of the «Los Soles» drug cartel. The cartel, in turn, was declared a foreign terrorist organization on November 24. Venezuela, however, has declared that such a cartel does not exist and was invented by the White House.

For his part, Donald Trump has not ruled out a potential conversation with the President of Venezuela.
