The Belarusian Prosecutor General’s Office reported that a deputy director of an agricultural enterprise in Belarus received a disciplinary penalty and was also ordered to compensate for damages exceeding 3,000 rubles. This was due to him issuing an order to destroy an unharvested cornfield to simulate the completion of the harvest plan.

According to the press service of the agency, during an unscheduled raid on a day off, prosecutors of the Kobrin district in the Brest region «stopped the discing of a plot» covering 7 hectares where unharvested corn still remained.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the deputy director of the agricultural organization deliberately instructed machine operators to carry out this operation to conceal the fact of missed harvesting deadlines. The prosecutor’s office calculated that the manager thereby caused damage amounting to 3.35 thousand Belarusian rubles.

As a result of the prosecutor’s demands, the damages were recovered from the guilty party, and disciplinary measures were applied against him.
