Police Open Criminal Case Against Pedestrian Who "Taught" Drivers How to Park in Grodno
Police in the Grodno region have opened a criminal case against a resident of an apartment building in Grodno who periodically took it upon himself to “teach” drivers where to park. The 37-year-old man carried out his activities during trips to the garbage containers.
According to the police, the resident of a building on Stroitely Avenue decided that drivers parking their cars along his path to the trash bins were inconveniencing him. The Grodno Regional Police Department stated that the motorists were parked correctly in designated areas.
Two cars were damaged as a result of the man’s actions. Initially, he damaged a Mercedes using glue that he had in his trash bag.
A month later, the Grodno resident noticed a Seat which, in his opinion, also blocked access to the garbage bins. This time, he specifically bought glue and poured it into the car’s keyhole.
By the end of August, the pedestrian-«teacher», having developed a taste for it, damaged the same cars again.
«The suspect again followed his established scheme with glue, damaging the hood and windshield of both cars. In September and October, he continued his actions, hoping that the owners of the Seat and Mercedes would stop leaving their cars in this spot», reported the Regional Police Department.
The drivers, realizing someone was deliberately vandalizing their cars, contacted the police, who subsequently found the «teacher».
According to an expert assessment, the damage caused to the motorists amounted to more than 3,000 Belarusian rubles. «Criminal investigation officers identified the suspect, and he was detained by the patrol and guard service. A criminal case has been initiated under the article ‘Hooliganism’», the police said.
