Belarus Investment Forum, held in Frankfurt / Main (Germany) on November 17, aroused great interest of foreign investors. This was stated by Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov in his interview to TV channel "Belarus TV". At the same time, as he says, it is "wrong to expect some "shocking" results of single-stage events, such as forum."
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, the work on attracting foreign investment is large and systematic, and its result is gradual, BelTA informs.
Sergei Martynov said that the forum had proved to be more efficient than the one, held two years ago in London. «Frankfurt / Main Forum was more advanced and aroused even more attention than London forum. The hall, prepared for the event, was designed for 400 seats. In the end, there were about 700 people. It proves the interest, which our country presents,» the Minister stressed.
«According to the preliminary information, the forum resulted in 22 agreements and a memorandum on the total amount of future contracts of about $2.7 billion. In addition, the documents on new industries creation were signed, in particular, plate rolling on BMZ (Byelorussian Steel Works — Telegraf), a new venture for the production of wood materials with the Austrian company, hotel — construction business. Projects, related to alternative energy and environment, were also defined,» Sergei Martynov said.
